The difference
What Pro actually changes
Free is not a trial and it does not expire. The split is deliberate: the whole editor and workspace is free, and Pro is the workbenches that stand in for a separate tool — a log analyser, a schema tool, a semantic diff, a type generator. Everything shared by both tiers is listed first; the Pro-only rows are at the end.

Pro features are additive and view-only where they can be. If you stop at Free, every tab you have ever typed stays open, editable and exportable. Unfiled never locks a document behind a purchase.

Requirements and answers
What do I need to run it?
macOS 15 Sequoia or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. Unfiled ships as a universal binary in a signed and notarized disk image. It is roughly 12 MB.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a single payment that unlocks the current major version permanently, including every point release within it.
Can I use Pro on more than one Mac?
Yes — on every Mac you personally own. The unlock is tied to you, not to a machine.
What happens to my tabs if I never buy Pro?
Nothing. They keep autosaving and restoring exactly as they do now. Free is a permanent tier, not a countdown.
Do you upload anything?
Almost none. Activating a Pro license contacts the license service, sending your key, an identifier for this installation and your Mac's model. Beyond that there is no networking code that touches your content — no sync, no account, no analytics on what you type. See the privacy commitment.
Is there a refund?
Yes, within 30 days, no explanation needed. Email us and we will process it.
